Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a day/night shift at a teaching hospital in Montana. The role includes ICU/ED coverage, Epic charting, and a 3x12 schedule with 36 hours per week.

Active RRT certification is required with BLS, and potential travel accommodations are available. Trainee approval and on-site Epic training may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RRT certification required; CRT not accepted.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Epic charting experience required; recent experience within the last 12 months strongly preferred but not mandatory.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC, bag and mask, and ET tube.

Responsibilities

• Work in adult critical care and Emergency Department settings at a teaching hospital.
• May work alongside students, interns, or learning RNs.
• Day shift (0600-1800) with possible night shifts (1800-0600), 3x12 hour schedule.
• 36 hours per week.
• EPIC charting system used.
• Travel pairs accepted, though same shift is not guaranteed.
• Perform suctioning, airway placement, and sputum specimen collection as needed.
• Manage nebulizer treatments including hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar methods.
• Troubleshoot high pressure ventilator alarms.
• Clinicians without recent Epic experience will complete on-site Epic training and pass a test-out before being scheduled.
• RTO typically limited to no more than 2 weeks during the assignment, with expectation to make up missed time.
• First-time travelers considered.
