Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift travel assignment in a hospital setting.

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years nursing or respiratory therapy experience and Epic charting experience. The role includes adult critical care and emergency department coverage, 3x12 hour nights (1800-0630) with a 1:12-16 patient ratio, travel-friendly benefits, and housing and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing/respiratory therapy experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• RRT certification required; license required if applicable.
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred.
• Epic charting system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit in an adult critical care and emergency department setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:12-16.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1800-0630.
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
• Performs airway management, intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Provides pulmonary hygiene including suctioning, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen therapy.
• Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV, including weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Assists with patient transport, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role.
• Scrub color is not restricted.
• RTO limited to 2 requests per contract.
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
• Up to 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules completed through MyPath during orientation.
• Pending licenses may be considered, but license must be active and in-hand prior to start date.

• Experience administering respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Pulmicort
