Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ year of experience for a night shift position providing critical care and airway management services. The role includes 1:1 patient care, pediatric care in ED, and use of a range of respiratory equipment, with opportunities for travel and travel-related benefits.

Responsibilities include bedside bronchoscopy support, ventilator management, complex airway procedures, and adherence to 18:45–07:15 shifts with every-other weekend

Qualifications

• RRT certification is required.
• BLS is required; ACLS preferred.
• PA state license must be in hand prior to start (license required if applicable).
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Airway management skills including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Proficiency in ABG procurement and interpretation.
• Experience with oxygen therapy delivery including HFNC and trach collar.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory services across all patient care areas, including pediatrics over 13 in the Emergency Department.
• Perform bedside bronchoscopy support.
• Use specialized equipment (Servo I/U, Hamilton C1, V60, etc.).
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio.
• Night shift, 3×12-hour schedule (18:45–07:15).
• Rotate every other weekend.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• RTO requests reviewed case-by-case.

• Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (18:45-07:15)
• Every other weekend rotation
• First-time travelers accepted
• RTO requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
