Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience for a night shift assignment at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

The role requires RRT certification, BLS/PALS/NRP, and SC RRT licensure in hand at start. Responsibilities include care for critically ill pediatric, neonatal, and infant patients in a PICU/NICU setting, with 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, potential weekend/holiday rotations, and no on-call

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• RRT certification required.
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications only).
• Pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience required.
• Experience with bronchoscopy patient care preferred.
• Airway management devices and suctioning skills required.
• Extubation experience required.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• South Carolina RRT license required, must be in hand at time of start (pending license may be considered with proof of application).
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Pediatric Critical Care unit including NICU Level 4 and Pediatric Cardiac patients.
• 3x12 night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holiday rotation required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating within scope may be required depending on experience.
• Epic EMR system used.
• Located at a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status.
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required.
• Provide respiratory care to critically ill pediatric, neonatal, and infant patients.
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on position needs.
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized.
• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration.
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
