American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina, at a teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma Center.

The role requires NICU Level IV and Pediatric ICU experience, 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour day shifts, with holiday rotation and weekend work. Epic EMR experience preferred; license and SC RRT in hand at start.

Qualifications

• Active RRT certification required (NBRC or SC RCP accepted)
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• SC RRT license must be in hand at time of start
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• NICU Level IV experience required; Peds ICU experience will be considered
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide airway management, suctioning, extubation and bronchoscopy care as needed
• Care for pediatric patients in NICU Level IV and Pediatric Critical Care settings
• Work in Pediatric Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit in a children's hospital
• Use Epic EMR for charting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• No on-call requirements; may float within scope based on experience
• May float within scope; no floating to sister facilities

Additional Information

• Work within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is also a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
• First-time travelers will be considered depending on the position
• Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
