Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 4 NICU/Pediatric Cardiac unit requiring 2+ years of pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience. Location: Charleston, SC. Day shift 3x12 hours; no on-call; travel-friendly benefits and housing provided.

Requirements include RRT, BLS/PALS/NRP, Epic experience preferred, and licensure as applicable. First-time travelers considered depending on needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience.
• RRT certification required.
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• NBRC and SC RCP certification/license accepted.
• SC RRT license must be in hand at start.
• License required if applicable.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Bronchoscopy patient care experience preferred.
• Experience with airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation.
• Teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works in a Level 4 NICU with Pediatric Cardiac patients at a teaching hospital.
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirement.
• No floating to sister facilities required, floating within scope depends on experience.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide respiratory care and neuro diagnostics services within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status.
• Holiday rotation required.
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required.
• First-time travelers considered depending on position needs.
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration.
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed.
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.
