Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a night shift position at a Magnet‑designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in a pediatric unit.

Details

• Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Magnet‑designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12‑hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Holiday rotation required
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope may be required depending on experience; no floating to sister facilities
• No on‑call required
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• 13‑week contract

Requirements

• Current RRT certification through the NBRC
• Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license required – license must be in hand at time of start (license required if applicable)
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pediatric, neonatal, and infant respiratory therapy
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First‑time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non‑local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on manager and unit needs
• Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment

• Parking is required on nights and weekends; a one‑time $20 parking pass fee applies
• This facility is located in a hurricane‑prone region; travelers should be aware that from June through November, all staff may be assigned to emergency response activities, with peak activity in August and September
