Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Risk Specialist I to drive regulated waste compliance across multiple sites within California. You will implement environmental plans, conduct audits, and partner with operations to meet compliance milestones.

The role requires interpreting RCRA/DOT rules and analyzing data to close gaps while maintaining program controls. The ideal candidate has a strong EHS foundation, 2+ years of related experience, and the ability to travel up to half of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• 2+ years of environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and applicable state hazardous waste rules).
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects and activities, including developing SOPs, workflows, and inspection routines.
• Apply risk management methods such as waste compliance audits and site inspections to monitor thresholds and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with site teams, compliance operations, and partners to understand needs and drive consensus.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and work with owners to improve conformance and efficiency.
• Prepare clear documentation, including status reports, audit results, and metrics for stakeholders.
• Travel expected up to 50% of the time.
