Job summary

Amazon's Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team seeks a Risk Specialist I to drive regulated waste compliance across multiple California sites, including Rialto. You will execute environmental plans, track obligations, and partner with operations to meet milestones.

Ideal candidates bring knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and state rules, with data-driven gap analysis and strong communication to stakeholders. Up to 50% travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and applicable state hazardous waste rules).
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects and activities, including SOPs, workflows, and inspection routines across sites.
• Apply risk management methods such as waste compliance audits and site inspections to monitor thresholds and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with site teams, compliance operations, and partners to clarify waste requirements and build consensus.
• Identify process improvements with owners to increase conformance and reduce risk.
• Prepare clear documentation, including status reports, audit results, metrics, and communications.
• Travel expected up to 50% of the time.
