Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Risk Specialist I to drive regulated waste compliance across its California sites. You will implement environmental compliance plans at the site level, maintain hazardous waste records, and partner with operations to meet milestones.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and state rules, and will use data to identify gaps, prioritize fixes, and improve conformance. Expect up to 50% travel in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field is required.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, state rules) and collecting data to identify gaps.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects across sites.
• Apply risk management methods including audits and site inspections to monitor thresholds and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with site teams and compliance partners to understand needs and drive consensus.
• Identify process improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
• Prepare clear documentation, status reports, and metrics for stakeholders.
• Travel expected up to 50% of the time.
