Job summary

Scotch is seeking a hands-on POS Installation Technician to deploy and configure POS systems at retailers across the continental United States.

This field-based role requires frequent travel, on-site installation, testing, and hand-off of complete POS environments to store staff while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate is technically capable, energetic, reliable under deadline pressure, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience installing, deploying, or supporting POS systems or field tech solutions.
• Willing to travel up to 100% across the continental US, including overnight stays.
• Comfortable with a highly variable schedule and being away from home for extended periods.
• Hands-on hardware setup, cabling, and troubleshooting.
• Basic networking understanding (IP addressing, routers, switches, connectivity).
• Strong reliability, time management, and clear communication with store staff and teams.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Denver, Nashville, Atlanta, NYC or Boston.

Responsibilities

• Travel to retail locations across the continental US to install, configure, and commission POS hardware and software.
• Perform installations within pre-opening windows to minimize business disruption.
• Disassemble old POS systems and organize components for retailers to dispose of.
• Set up Scotch POS terminals, cash drawers, receipt printers, barcode scanners, readers, and peripherals.
• Run cables and coordinate with on-site networking and electrical teams for connectivity.
• Install and update POS software, configurations, and integrations with back-office systems.
• Test end-to-end functionality, troubleshoot on-site, and obtain sign-off upon readiness.
• Provide basic training to store staff when required and complete installation checklists and reports.
• Communicate status and blockers to project managers and deployment teams.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory while traveling and adhere to safety standards.
