Job summary

Shermco is seeking a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing to perform testing, maintenance, and repair on electrical distribution systems. The role involves traveling to industrial and commercial sites to inspect, test, and collect data on LV/HV equipment to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Minimum qualifications include 2+ years in switchgear testing and troubleshooting, an EPC or ABET-accredited EE degree, and NETA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience performing switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• Experience with testing on high/low voltage equipment.
• Able to drive locally and travel periodically for overnight sites.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on electrical systems.
• Perform instrument transformer tests and transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Test relays, cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
• Troubleshoot ATS and switchgear and metering.
• Support on-call emergencies and adhere to safety procedures.
