Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and repair on distribution systems at customer sites. You will travel regionally to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data from low to high voltage equipment.

Minimum requirements include an EPC or EE degree and 2+ years of switchgear testing experience, with PowerDB familiarity. Travel up to 40% and potential for overtime are expected, and drug/background checks are

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls or an EE degree.
• NETA certification or similar desired.
• 2+ years of switchgear testing & troubleshooting experience.
• Good PC skills including Excel; PowerDB a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data collection on HV systems.
• Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing using standard methods.
• Test relays, cable tests including Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot; troubleshoot ATS and switchgear.
