Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician in Phoenix to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and repair on distribution systems. You will travel to customer sites, inspect and test LV to HV equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include transformer and relay testing, cable testing, switchgear verification, and on-call response for emergencies. Requires 2+ years of experience, relevant degree or military training, and 40% travel.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of experience performing switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
ABET-accredited EPC or EE degree or military equivalent.
NETA Certification (I, II or III/IV) preferred.
Must read/write English fluently.
Must travel ~40% and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection on LV to HV systems.
Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, etc.).
Test electro‑mechanical and solid state relays; verify correct operation.
Carry out cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
Troubleshoot A‑T switchgear, control gear, and circuit breakers.
Conduct relay calibrations and power metering with accuracy.
Rotate on-call for emergencies and respond promptly when called.
