Travel Radiation Therapist

Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with 2+ years experience and ARRT(T) certification for an acute care radiation oncology department using Varian linear accelerator technology.

The role involves image-guided radiotherapy, daily CT simulations, and daily treatment workflows in a fully-equipped oncology setting. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a focus on safety and accuracy while utilizing EPIC and ARIA for EMR/PACS.

Qualifications

• ARRT(T) certification required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• WV state license required if applicable.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Knowledge of Varian linear accelerators required.
• Ability to administer external beam radiation as prescribed by radiation oncologist.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Radiation Oncology department setting.
• Department includes 1 CT Simulation scanner and 1 Linear accelerator.
• Performs image-guided radiation therapy and CBCT.
• Administers 30-35 therapeutic radiation treatments per day.
• Completes 3-5 CT simulations daily.
• Uses Varian 2100 IX linear accelerator and GE Lightspeed CT scanner.
• Uses EPIC and ARIA for EMR/PACS.
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
• No floating or coverage of other areas required.
• No weekend, call, or standby requirements.
• No major holiday coverage required.
• Works alongside a Radiation Oncologist or covering physician available during treatment hours.
• Solid color scrubs required, navy blue not permitted, scrubs not provided.
• Minimal potential for overtime to meet clinic needs.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.
• Previous perm employees must have a 2-year break before returning as travelers.
• Previous travelers who worked a full year must take a 2-year break before returning
