Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification and 1-2 years of experience for a hospital Radiation-Oncology department in Morristown, NJ. Must have NJ license if applicable and operate CT on rails for IGRT delivery.

The role uses Varian TrueBeam, EPIC and MOSAIQ for charting and treatment management. Schedule is 8am–4pm, 37.5 hours weekly, with possible local hospital float. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and CEUs.

Qualifications

• Active NJ license required if applicable.
• ARRT certified and registered.
• Successful completion of an approved course in Radiation Therapy.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Experience performing IGRT, SBRT treatment, and portal imaging.
• Ability to safely operate CT on rails for IGRT delivery.
• Experience with CT simulation including immobilization devices, respiratory gating, and AcQ sim.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures for department and treatment equipment.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department.
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8am-4pm AM shift.
• 37.5 hours per week.
• May float to sister hospital nearby as needed.
• Uses Varian TrueBeam linac equipment.
• AlignRT experience preferred but not required.
• Uses EPIC and MOSAIQ for charting and treatment management.
• No on-call requirements.
• Accurately delivers planned radiation therapy courses while operating treatment units with minimal supervision.
• Performs daily linac and CT QA as well as monthly CT QA.
• Maintains visual and audible communication with patients during treatment.
• Constructs electron and cerrobend blocks and immobilization devices as needed.
• Maintains and verifies all aspects of MOSAIQ including treatment calendar, prescriptions, photos, and portal imaging.
• Attends weekly chart rounds.
• Follows department dress code and all safety standards including ALARA principles for radiation protection.
• Uses proper body mechanics and equipment such as slide boards and ceiling lifts.
• Accepts local candidates at a different rate.
• Open to first-time travelers with required experience.
