Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a Long Term Care facility in Massachusetts. The assignment is 13 weeks, with 35 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, and no weekends or on-call requirements. New grads may apply if Level II fieldwork is completed.

Requirements include active PTA license, at least 1 year of PTA experience in LTC/rehab, and one reference. Benefits include housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and per diem where applicable.

• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehab meetings.
• Support and supervise students under supervising PT.
• Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts.

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care (LTC) setting within a Physical Therapy department
• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 35 hours guaranteed work week
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Administer manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive or assistive devices as part of rehabilitation plans
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans
• Document all treatment information and minutes in the electronic documentation system per regulatory requirements
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist
• Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
