Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care setting, requiring 1+ years of PTA experience and an active PTA license. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with day shifts, Monday through Friday, and no weekends or on-call duties.

Ideal candidates have LTC/SNF experience and can provide patient treatment under PT supervision, including manual therapies and therapeutic exercises. A reference is required at time of consideration.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year PTA experience.
LTC/SNF setting experience required.
New grads with Level II clinical experience may apply.

Responsibilities

Work in a Long Term Care facility within the Physical Therapy department.
Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM.
No weekend requirements.
No on-call requirements.
13 week assignment.
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under PT supervision.
Administer treatment interventions including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices.
Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans.
Document all regulatory and clinical information in the electronic documentation system.
Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
Provide input for discharge summaries and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies.
May supervise and support students under PT guidance.
Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested.
