Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care facility in Houston, TX. The role supports the Physical Therapy unit with a patient caseload and group sessions, under the supervision of a PT.

Day shifts, no weekends; compact license accepted for fast onboarding. A minimum of 1 year PTA experience in LTC/SNF settings is required, along with Texas licensure and a reference.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Treatment times average 30–60 minutes depending on payer (Medicare A/B and Managed Care)
• Day shift 8-hour shifts; no weekend or on-call requirements
• Document all regulatory and clinical information in the electronic system
• Collaborate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans as needed
• May supervise and support students under supervision of PT
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts and ethics standards
• Utilize DME and supplies as needed and participate in relevant meetings

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care facility setting in the Physical Therapy unit
• Patient caseload typically ranges from 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix
• Treatment times average approximately 1 hour for Medicare B and 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients
• Group therapy sessions are utilized as part of care delivery
• Each therapist is provided a dedicated device for documentation
• Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Compact license accepted
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Administer treatment interventions including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
• Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies
• May supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested
