Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care setting requiring 1+ years of PTA experience and active state licensure.

Requirements

• Active PTA license required in the state of practice
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New graduates considered if they have completed a Level II clinical experience (not just Level I observation)
• Resume required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required
• At least one reference required at time of consideration

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting within the Physical Therapy department
• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Start times flexible between before 6AM and no later than 10AM, as long as consistent and coordinated with the Director of Rehab
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Administer treatment techniques including manual therapy, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
• Communicate with supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Document all treatment and progress information in the electronic documentation system per regulatory requirements
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and other required facility meetings
• Provide consultation and education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders
• Maintain adherence to APTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethical standards
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the Level II clinical experience requirement
• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed during the assignment
