American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant with 1 year of outpatient experience for a day-shift contract position. The role is based in an outpatient clinic environment and involves treating patients with orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting.
• License may be required depending on local regulations.
• Experience with any standard charting system is required.

Responsibilities

• Work in outpatient clinic setting.
• Day shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 5x8 schedule.
• Treat orthopedic and neurologic conditions including hip fractures, joint replacements, spinal conditions, stroke recovery, and traumatic brain injury.
• Use devices such as crutches, gait belts, walkers, slings, and upper/lower extremity prosthetics.
• Perform tests such as WorkSTEPS or APET, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Evaluate and treat injured workers and create safe return-to-work plans.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities and exercise equipment to aid recovery.
• Communicate patient progress with referring physicians and rehab nurses regularly.
• May assist with front desk tasks like answering phones and scheduling visits.
• Maintain professional communication with physicians, case managers, insurers, and other contacts.
• May support marketing and community outreach when patient load allows.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
