Job summary

Vesuvius in Missouri seeks a Service Technician to provide on-site administrative and technical support for maintaining Vesuvius products and applications. Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years assembly or industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Good mechanical aptitude to evaluate mechanical problems, outline requirements, plan projects, and solve problems.
• Basic working knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and electronics
• Basic mechanical skills: motor replacement, mechanical part replacement, testing of repaired equipment for the service of associated refractory application equipment.
• Requires good reading, writing, and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to acquire an understanding of both the customer’s process and products supplied.

Responsibilities

• The Service Technician provides on-site administrative and technical support to internal and external customers in maintaining Vesuvius products and applications.
• Diagnoses technical problems or errors and works to determine proper solutions.
• Manages on-site activities such as installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Assists with project planning to meet requirements for product function, performance, safety, reliability, cost, and delivery.
• Reports to the District Manager.
• Create reports for trial updates.
• Written & verbal communication to obtain solution.
• Implements solution & follows up on solution outcomes.
• Complies with quality management system including adherence to procedures and development of Product Documentation for safe and effective Assembly and Use.
