Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our acute care mobile MRI unit, supporting a neuroscience institute in Morgantown, WV. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of MRI experience and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification, with BLS on file and WV MRI license if applicable.

You will operate as the sole technologist on shift, performing brain, spine, MRA, body and MSK imaging. Responsibilities include 14 scans per day on a Siemens single-scanner suite, using EPIC EMR and Fuji PACS, and

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile MRI unit in acute care setting with neuroscience institute.
• Single Siemens MRI scanner in Radiology; brain, spine, MRA, body, MSK imaging.
• Average ~14 scans per day; communicate with physician.
• Use EPIC EMR and Fuji PACS for imaging workflow.
• Work under Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech; no float to other areas.
• 12-hour day shifts, Mon-Wed, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM; no weekends/holidays.

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ years of experience and ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification to work within an acute care mobile MRI unit supporting a neuroscience institute.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
• WV MRI license required if applicable
• Must be able to start IVs
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working independently as the sole technologist on shift

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting operating as a mobile MRI unit in partnership with a neuroscience institute
• Single scanner Siemens MRI suite within the Radiology department
• Performs brain, spine, MRA, body (abdomen, pelvis, chest), and MSK (long bone, joint) imaging studies
• Averages approximately 14 scans/studies per day
• Works as the lone technologist with physician communication required
• Uses EPIC EMR and Fuji PACS
• Staffing model includes 1 technologist supported by 2 Technical Aides (TAs)
• No floating to other areas required
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Wednesday, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• No weekend, holiday, or call/standby requirements
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling offered
• Works under a Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech with an in-house radiologist available
• Grey scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Facility only considers candidates residing more than 50 miles away (100 miles for Princeton Community Hospital)
• Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying to any WVU Medicine location
• Travelers are limited to a maximum of one year of cumulative work within WVU facilities before a required 2-year break
• Princeton Community, Potomac Valley, and Garrett Regional do not allow former permanent staff to return as travelers
