Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with 1+ years of MRI experience and ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification to work in varied inpatient and outpatient settings using GE and Hitachi scanners. The role features rotating shifts, Epic EMR duties, travel assignment experience, and a focus on abdominal, pelvic, head/neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging.

On-call and patient transport duties may apply.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Previous travel assignment experience required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Rotating schedule of Saturday/Sunday 8am-8pm and Tuesday/Wednesday 3pm-11pm, totaling 40 hours per week.
• Works with both inpatient and outpatient populations across adult acute care, ICU, ER/Trauma, and pediatric settings.
• Performs scans on patients with implanted devices, including non-conditional pacemakers.
• Responsible for transporting patients after hours.
• Comfortable scanning pediatric and sedated patients.
• Uses GE 1.5 Signa EchoSpeed, GE 1.5 Signa Voyager, GE 3T Signa Excite, and Hitachi (Fuji) Oasis Open Air equipment.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Considers first-time travelers for this position.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation.
• Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Allied health modules typically take 2-3 hours to complete and are done onsite during orientation.

Requirements

• ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification required
• BLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in abdominal, pelvic, head/neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal MRI procedures
• Experience with MRA, MRV, MRCP, and CINE flow studies
• Proficient in cardiac and pulmonary MRI, with and without contrast
• Experience preparing and administering contrast media and starting peripheral IVs
• Familiar with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• License required if applicable
