Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift MRI Technologist with 3+ years of experience in neuro, body and MSK imaging, including vented and monitored patients in a Level 1 Trauma setting.

Shifts are 4x10 nights (21:00–07:30) with every third weekend and holiday coverage. You’ll float within campuses as needed, using Siemens Aera/Sola 1.5T systems and maintaining strict MRI safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years MRI technologist experience
• ARRT-R certification required; ARRT-MR preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• MD state license required if applicable
• Experience with vented/monitored patients in Level 1 Trauma setting required
• Siemens Aera and Sola 1.5T magnet experience required
• High level of MRI safety competency and zones maintained

Responsibilities

• Operate in a hospital MRI department in acute care Level 1 Trauma setting
• Work 4x10 night shifts 21:00–07:30, Monday through Thursday; 5x8 night shifts also considered
• Every third weekend and holidays coverage as scheduled
• Floating within specialty and campus as needed
• Scan Neuro, Body, and MSK studies; include ventilated/monitored patients
• Use Siemens Aera and Sola 1.5T magnets; ensure MRI safety standards
• Maintain MRI zone protocols and safety for visiting staff
• Travelers must float within scope with no restrictions
• Local candidates within 50 miles may not be accepted unless specified
• Former staff require 12-month break; returning travelers need 6-month break

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years MRI Technologist experience required
• ARRT-R certification required; ARRT-MR preferred
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• MD state license required if applicable
• Experience with vented and monitored patients, ideally in a Level 1 Trauma setting required
• Siemens Aera and Sola 1.5T magnet experience required
• High level of competency in MRI safety, MRI zones, and maintaining safety for visiting staff required
• First-time travelers accepted with strong skills and experience

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based MRI department in an acute care, Level 1 Trauma setting
• 4x10 night shifts from 21:00-07:30, Monday through Thursday block schedule (5x8 night shifts also considered)
• Every third weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and campus as needed
• No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
• Scans basic MRI requests including Neuro, Body, and MSK studies
• Scans ventilated and monitored patients with IV extensions
• Uses Siemens Aera and Sola 1.5T magnets primarily
• PACS system used for imaging
• Perform MRI scans across neuro, body, and MSK specialties with high-level safety competency
• Maintain MRI safety standards for visiting staff and ensure proper MRI zone protocols
• Travelers are expected to float within scope with no restrictions
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
• Former staff must have a 12-month break before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system before reapplying
