Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The assignment runs for 11 weeks with 36 hours per week and 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Weekend rotations and some holidays are required. The unit supports float to like patient areas, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on shift, and on-site IV starts and telemetry monitoring. BLS is required; ACLS preferred.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday requirements: 2 out of 3 holidays
• Potential to be placed on call or standby
• Must be able to float to like units and patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11:00 PM; team nursing with LPNs at 2:7 ratios
• Common diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day surgical cases such as ortho, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, and TURPS-CBI
• Must be comfortable with IV starts as there is no IV team on site
• Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge required; physical monitor located at nurses' desk
• Travelers may be placed as relief charge nurse
• Nurse aids available on the unit
• Hospitalist available until 6:00 PM daily, then telemed utilized
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with CPAP equipment
• Drip titration is not required
• 1 year of Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience required (acute care experience)
• Preferred: experience with TURPS-CBI and Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience
• Solid professional scrubs required, no specific color
• Required certification: BLS (AHA); preferred certification: ACLS
• Orientation: Day 1 includes 8-hour computer education and 4-hour shadowing; Day 2 is a full 12-hour orientation shift; Day 3 independent practice begins

This acute care facility operates a 24-bed inpatient unit with capacity for up to 10 observation and day surgery patients. The facility is a Trauma Level 4 critical access hospital offering a range of inpatient and surgical services, including orthopedic procedures and general surgery. The unit operates with a collaborative team nursing model and utilizes telemed support after hours, reflecting a community-focused approach to comprehensive patient care.
