Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing assignment in Madison, Wisconsin. The role covers 12-hour shifts, nights, for 13 weeks with a 36-hour work week and requires a Wisconsin RN license and Telemetry proficiency.

Candidate must complete adult and pediatric telemetry exams, manage diverse medical conditions, and float as needed to other units. A $250 contract completion bonus is offered along with comprehensive benefits for travelers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required.
• Must pass Telemetry test with 80%+ (two attempts allowed).
• Adult Telemetry Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients with Med Surg/Telemetry needs.
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, PT, Pharmacy, Social Services and Rapid Response.
• Float to other units or downtown campus as needed.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Tele

Job Details:

• Evening/Night shifts, 12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Patient ratio of 6 patients on weekends
• Float required to other units or downtown campus as needed
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• BLS required - AHA only
• Must pass Telemetry test prior to start (two attempts allowed; passing score of 80% or higher)
• Adult Telemetry Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole) and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Pediatric Telemetry Exam requires identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, HTN, diabetes, infections, and more
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA
• Perform skills including central line blood draws, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, telemetry monitoring, IV insertion and management, phlebotomy, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Support bariatric, orthopedic, neurospine, and general surgical patient populations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Local travelers within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Free parking available onsite
