Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for Med/Surg in Birmingham, Alabama. This travel assignment offers 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and 12-hour nights.

As a Med/Surg RN you will perform patient assessments, administer prescribed medications, change dressings, start IVs, and aid in discharge planning. 1–2 years of acute care experience is preferred; BLS required.

TotalMed RN provides weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on procedures and discharge plans.
