Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a long-term care unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification. The role covers night shifts and geriatric patient care within a skilled nursing facility, with potential floating to other units in the system.

Responsibilities

• May float to other units or campuses as needed.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a long-term care unit requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification, with night shift coverage and geriatric patient care.

Requirements

• Active LPN/LVN license required if applicable


• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required


• BLS certification required


• Previous nursing home or skilled nursing facility experience preferred


• Epic EMR experience required


• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (up to two attempts allowed)


• Valid driver's license required for address verification

Responsibilities

• Long-term care unit within a skilled nursing facility setting


• Geriatric patient population with a 1:27 patient ratio


• Performs admission care for trach, wound vac, TPN, central lines, IVs, g-tube, and PROM machines


• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM


• Works every other weekend with holiday coverage as needed


• May float to other units when department volume is low, or to other campuses within the health system


• Uses Epic EMR


• Responsibilities include patient admission and discharge, wound care, wound vac management, central line care, IV therapy, feeding tube management, catheter care, and medication administration


• Provides care for conditions including pressure ulcers, respiratory needs (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen, suctioning), and cardiac monitoring including 12-lead EKG


• Supports end-of-life/hospice care including symptom management and patient/family education


• First-time travelers will be considered for this position


• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local rates do not apply


• RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
