Job summary

TotalMed RN, a leading travel nursing agency, seeks an Infusion-PICC RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Boston, MA. You will manage infusion therapy, PICC lines, and IV medications, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of infusion RN experience, BLS, and eligibility for Massachusetts licensure. Travel-friendly benefits and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of RN infusion experience.
• Current BLS certification and eligible for state licensure.
• Infusion RNs should be autonomous, organized, and compassionate with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine need for infusion therapy or PICC placement.
• Insert, maintain, and care for PICC lines and other central venous access devices, ensuring patient safety.
• Administer IV medications, fluids, and other treatments as prescribed with proper infusion techniques.
• Monitor patient responses during and after infusions, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Provide patient and family education on PICC care and infusion therapy for home management.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure continuity across settings.
• Assess for and prevent complications related to infusion therapy, document interventions and progress.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including disposal of equipment.
• Manage a caseload of patients, ensuring timely visits and quality patient care.
