Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a GI/Endoscopy Technician with 2+ years of GI/Endoscopy experience for an acute care hospital in the Dallas area. The role requires prior travel assignment history, BLS cert, and Epic EMR experience. State ID, SSN, and DOB are required at the outset. Must be skilled in instrument processing and infection control.

The position involves inpatient GI/Endoscopy support, rotating shifts, on-call coverage, and use of Provation and Epic EMR systems. Travel bonuses included.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• 5x8-hour day shifts with varying start times.
• Rotating on-call schedule for nights, weekends and holidays.
• 1:1 patient ratio and use of Epic EMR for charting.
• Handle scopes and equipment including ERBE units and washers.

American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Technician with 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment history for an acute care hospital setting.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• State-issued ID required prior to consideration
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Skilled in procedural assistance, including biopsy support, room turnover, specimen handling, and instrument processing
• Knowledge of infection control, sterilization/disinfection, and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) protocols
• Familiarity with Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
• Experience with Provation software preferred

Responsibilities

• Inpatient GI/Endoscopy unit supporting procedural and bedside travel cases
• 5x8-hour day shifts with procedure start times varying between 0600-1430, 0630-1500, 0700-1530, and 0830-1700
• Rotating on-call schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Equipment includes balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE units, forceps, polyp snares, and washer/sterilizers
• Handles colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EUS scopes, enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, and flex sigmoidoscopes
• Performs procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, CRE balloon dilations, and esophageal foreign body removal
• Responsible for cleaning and care of scopes and instruments, restocking supply rooms, and handling pathology specimens
• Supports inpatient and portable/bedside travel cases
• Participates in rotating on-call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Completes required training modules pre-start and during orientation, with additional annual training
• RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request permitted during the Nov-Jan holiday season
• Candidates residing within 90 miles are considered local
