Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for a travel assignment in Baton Rouge, LA. You will perform advanced endoscopy procedures (ERCP, EUS, EBUS) with independence in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Requirements include active RN license (Compact or LA), current BLS/ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years in GI/Endoscopy. You will coordinate and monitor conscious sedation, bronchoscopy, and related care.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Compact or LA) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years GI/Endoscopy experience
  • Must perform advanced procedures including ERCP and EUS

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Endoscopy unit performing inpatient and outpatient procedures
  • Schedule includes 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • On-call responsibilities required for after hours, weekends, and holidays with a 30-minute response time
  • Preferred charting system is Epic
  • Performs advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, colonoscopy, and EGD
  • Performs pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy and EBUS
  • Utilizes bronchoscopy cart and related supplies
  • Administers and monitors conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
  • Responsible for circulating during procedures and managing pre/post-procedure patient care
  • May be assigned to an Emergency Team by unit manager during emergency events
  • Must demonstrate strong patient-first values consistent with facility mission
  • Two manager/supervisor references required prior to starting contract
  • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation from the facility
  • All requested RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
  • Orientation is held five days a week
  • First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN with advanced endoscopy expertise for a role requiring independent proficiency in procedures like ERCP, EUS, and EBUS.

Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand upon consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in GI/Endoscopy specialty required
  • Must function independently in all areas of Endoscopy including advanced procedures (ERCP, EUS) and pulmonary procedures (bronchoscopy, EBUS)
  • Experience with bariatric procedures and ION Robot preferred
  • Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
  • Experience administering medications including Propofol, Versed, and reversal agents
  • Proficient in specimen handling/labeling and post-procedure airway management
  • Driver's license and up-to-date NURSYS report required for consideration

  • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation from the facility before returning as a travel contractor
  • All requested RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
  • Orientation is held five days a week
  • First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
