Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking experienced Fire Alarm/Intrusion Technicians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across nationwide commercial sites.

The role requires running low-voltage cabling, installing support structures, and performing tests to ensure all systems are operational. Ideal candidates will read blueprints, follow NFPA 70/72 standards, and travel 2–6 weeks at a time with nights and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion.
• State Life Safety license or equivalent.
• NFPA 70 and 72 proficiency and code knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
• Comfort with heights 20–60 ft and lifting equipment.
• Experience with BOOM or scissor lifts.
• Proficient with mobile devices, email, and MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel 2–6 weeks at a time and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial locations.
• Run low-voltage cabling, including drilling and conduit work.
• Install cable supports (j-hooks, racks, innerduct).
• Test installed systems and devices for operation.
• Troubleshoot cabling networks and fire panels.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70/72 and safety standards.
• Collaborate on pre-installation design and planning.
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed.
• Adhere to project safety requirements as defined by Wachter and OSHA.
