Job summary

Wachter, Inc. seeks experienced Fire Alarm/Intrusion Installation Technicians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial sites nationwide.

The role requires traveling extensively, working at heights, reading blueprints, and ensuring NFPA standards compliance. Ideal candidates have field installation experience in security environments, a valid state license, and strong technical skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion.
• Current and valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70 and 72.
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
• Ability to work at heights of 20–60 ft using lifts.
• Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and MS Office.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness for extensive travel (2–6 weeks at a time) and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in commercial settings.
• Run low-voltage cabling in buildings, including wall drilling and conduit work.
• Install cable supports like j-hooks and innerduct.
• Test systems to ensure operation of all components.
• Troubleshoot cable networks and fire alarm panels.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards (70, 72) and safety rules.
• Collaborate on pre-installation design and planning.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
