Job summary

Flagstar Nursing in Bloomington, Indiana is seeking a travel Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech) to support open-heart and other cardiothoracic procedures. You will maintain sterile fields, prepare surgical sets, and assist the surgical team on a 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications include an accredited Surgical Technology program (Associate degree required, Bachelor's preferred), 2+ years in cardiovascular surgery, CST, BLS; ACLS a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accredited Surgical Technology program completed; Bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a surgical technologist in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgeries.
• CST credential from NBSTSA required; BLS certification required; ACLS a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and communication within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as scrub technologist for open-heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures including CABG and LVAD cases.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields; manage instrument sets, grafts, valves, and disposables.
• Pass instruments and supplies with precision; anticipate team needs during surgeries.
• Collaborate with perfusionists and circulatory staff on bypass setup and transitions.
• Maintain sterile technique and safety protocols throughout procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment and uphold sterile field integrity under pressure.
