Job summary

Flagstar Nursing seeks a CVOR Technologist for a travel assignment in St. Paul, MN. You will scrub open-heart cases, prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist the team during cardiothoracic procedures.

The role requires a CST credential, BLS, and 2+ years in cardiovascular OR settings, with ACLS a plus. Travel, 40h/week, 8h shifts, for 13 weeks with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accredited Surgical Technology program completed.
• Minimum 2 years of OR surgical technologist experience; cardiovascular/cardiothoracic preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub technologist for open-heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures (CABG, valve repairs, LVAD).
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, manage instrument sets, grafts, prosthetic valves, cannulas, disposables.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision during high-acuity cases.
• Collaborate with perfusionists and circulating staff to set up bypass circuits and priming.
• Ensure sterile technique and safety protocols throughout procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and maintaining sterile field integrity.
