Flagstar Nursing is seeking a Travel CVOR Technologist in Minneapolis, MN to support complex cardiac surgeries. You will maintain sterile fields, prepare surgical equipment, and assist the team throughout high-acuity cases.

The role requires Cardiovascular OR experience, CST certification, BLS, and strong teamwork. Travel schedule offers 40-hour weeks with 8-hour shifts and a 13-week contract.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital operating room, specifically with cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS a plus.
• Previous experience in cardiovascular surgical procedures highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub technologist for open-heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including CABG, valve repairs, aortic surgeries, and LVAD implantations.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, managing complex instrument sets, grafts, prosthetic valves, cannulas, and specialized disposables to ensure readiness for each case.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision and efficiency, anticipating the needs of the surgical team during high-stakes cardiac surgeries.
• Collaborate with perfusionists and circulating staff to set up and transition on bypass circuits, including pump priming and management of cardiopulmonary bypass.
• Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols throughout all procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and maintaining sterile field integrity in high-pressure situations.
