Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an OR position requiring CST or TS-C certification and BLS. The role is an acute care hospital, with an evening schedule of 4x10-hour shifts and comprehensive benefits.

You will support surgeons during invasive and diagnostic procedures, manage instrument counts, and ensure sterile field readiness. Qualified candidates will have an Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology, BLS, CST or TS-C (NCCT), NBSTSA/AST

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• BLS certification required from an approved vendor.
• CST certification or TS-C (NCCT) certification required.
• Certification through NBSTSA or AST required.
• Minimum of 3 years of OR experience preferred.
• Relevant acute care experience preferred.
• License required if applicable.
• Cerner or Epic experience must be noted in employment history if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital Surgery unit position.
• Evening shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday with one varying day off.
• Facilitates physicians' performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic surgical procedures.
• Verifies surgical consent forms and brings patient to the assigned operating room.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon and anticipates additional supply needs during procedures.
• Performs instrument and sponge counts with the circulator before and after procedures.
• Prepares and secures sterile dressings following incision closure.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Assists with draping the sterile field.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and assists with room turnover between cases.
• All required vaccinations are a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions available.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will be automatically declined.
• Candidates with a prior adverse action on their license will not be considered.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction.
