American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital operating room position requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical technology role
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Hospital surgery department serving operative and invasive procedure needs
• Day shift schedule with 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift
• May be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated
• Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures
• Assemble, prepare, and organize sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures
• Assist with sterile draping, maintain the sterile field, and ensure sterility throughout the procedure
• Perform counts in concert with the RN circulator and prepare sterile dressings
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination areas
• Assist with post-procedure room cleaning and turnover for subsequent patients
• Participate in ongoing education and competency verification activities relevant to scrub role
• CRASE training required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
