Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant for a hospital OR position in Kailua, Hawaii. The role requires CSFA certification and BLS, with a preference for an Associate's or Technical degree and at least 3 years of OR experience, including recent practice.

The candidate will assist the primary surgeon, prepare and position patients, ensure sterile conditions, and manage instruments and implants per surgeon preference. Local candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• CSFA certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, providing exposure, hemostasis, and other surgical support functions.
• Prepares and positions patients for surgery and assists in visualization of the operating field.
• Verifies availability of surgical equipment, supplies, and implants according to surgeon preference.
• Performs pre- and postoperative activities to support optimal patient care.
• Works under direct supervision within defined clinical parameters.
