Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to participate in operations, assist the surgeon, and help maintain exposure and hemostasis. This role requires CSFA certification and active licensure, with preference for ACLS and BLS/HCP credentials.

Qualifications

• Registered by the State Board of Medicine and CSFA certification.
• Current AHA, BLS, HCP Certification.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in operations under the surgeon's direction to make incisions and close sites; manipulate tissues and apply dressings.
• Maintain exposure, control bleeding, and perform other technical tasks as required.
• Work all three shifts, weekends and holidays; schedule rotations as needed.
