Job summary

Leidos seeks a Travel Construction Manager (Civil Engineer) to oversee field construction for FAA ESA projects across the eastern US and Caribbean. You will coordinate with project engineers, COs, and contractors, travel frequently, and ensure work aligns with plans, schedules, and safety policies.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) and 4+ years of relevant construction experience; willing to travel 100% with weekends required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) with 4+ years of relevant construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, plans/specs, building materials, and applicable codes/standards.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders.
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction document review tools (e.g., Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary field point of contact coordinating with contractors, project engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and resolve field issues.
• Ensure contractor compliance with FAA Environmental, Safety, and Health policies and contract requirements while providing field construction monitoring and quality assurance.
• Monitor construction progress against schedules, review contractor reports, and communicate status, risks, and deviations from plans and specifications.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans to support engineering.
• Support inspections, commissioning, and closeout activities, including punch list tracking and resolution.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and as-built documentation and support project management activities (safety plans, sequencing, risk, quality).
• Assist with basic design modifications and field-driven adjustments; coordinate with engineering/design teams.
