Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Travel Construction Manager (Civil Engineer) to oversee FAA ESA projects across the eastern US and Caribbean. The role requires 100% travel (weeks to months), on-site monitoring, and coordination with Project Engineers and government stakeholders.

Candidate must reside in the eastern US and hold a BS in Civil Engineering with 4 years of relevant construction experience. PE licensure preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation and Primavera is a plus.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with 4 years of relevant construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction methods, plans, specs, materials, and applicable codes/standards.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs/Sheets, and construction document review tools (Bluebeam or similar).

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary field contact coordinating with contractors, project engineers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure contractor compliance with FAA Environmental, Safety, and Health policies and contract requirements.
• Monitor construction progress against schedules, review reports, and communicate risks and deviations.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans to provide input to engineering teams.
• Support inspections, commissioning, and closeout activities; track punch list items.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and as-built documentation; support project management activities.
• Assist with basic design modifications and field-driven adjustments; coordinate with engineering stakeholders.
