Job summary

Leidos seeks a Travel Construction Manager (Civil Engineer) to oversee FAA-related construction projects across the eastern US and Caribbean. This role requires 100% travel, on-site oversight, and coordination with project engineers and government stakeholders.

You will monitor progress, manage safety/compliance, review submittals, and support closeout with thorough reporting. Extensive field work and flex schedules are involved.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of construction experience in commercial, industrial, or government facilities
• Proven coordination with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and construction document review tools (Bluebeam or similar)
• Able to obtain Public Trust clearance, work flexible schedules (nights/weekends), and travel as required

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale construction projects and field operations as primary point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders
• Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies, regulatory standards, and contract requirements through active field oversight
• Monitor progress, identify risks, track deviations, and resolve complex technical and construction challenges across multiple disciplines
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and work plans; support coordination and constructability reviews and field-driven design adjustments
• Support inspections, commissioning, and project closeout; track punch lists and document status
• Maintain accurate reports and as-built documentation; communicate project status to stakeholders
