Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. in Farmington, CT is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair CNC machines while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires 100% nationwide travel, including overnight stays and occasional international travel; drivers license is required and training will be provided. Competitive benefits and pay scale reflect level and experience.

Qualifications

• Associates program or technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in computer software, file management, electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics and hydraulics is helpful.
• Must have and maintain a clean and valid driver's license and record.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers and machines to ensure equipment operates within expected tolerance.
• Work with Product Support for technical assistance and provide diagnostic feedback.
• Use visual clues, computer programs, diagnostic tools to diagnose machine difficulties.
• Read and utilize repair manuals and work orders; update documentation as needed.
• Assemble, install, align equipment; replace or install parts to maintain smooth operation.
• Report technical conditions and information of machines to PSG and management.
• Interface with cross functional teams such as applications, sales, engineering, production.
• Provide onsite training to customers for operation and/or repair of machines.
• Submit organized and helpful service reports for each repair mission.
