Job summary

Good Samaritan in Miller, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care under a charge nurse's supervision. You will help with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support dining and mobility needs while maintaining dignity and comfort for residents.

Administer prescribed medications per state regulations, document care outcomes, and communicate changes to the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours CE credits required.
• State CMA/CNA certifications (Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, SD) required.
• Active CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• Drug screen and pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care and vital signs.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping and laundry as needed.
