Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan Miller Prairie Center in Miller, SD delivers resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will help with hygiene, mobility, meals, and non-invasive monitoring, while documenting care and communicating changes in condition.

Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, complete required certifications, and participate in wellness activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• State CMA/CNA certification requirements vary by state; must have CMA/CNA certification per facility and may need to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary outcomes; monitor vital signs.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping, laundry, and participation in wellness programs.
