Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown to work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This PCU travel assignment requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and offers a 13-week duration with 36 hours per week on a night shift.

As a PCU RN, you will monitor cardiac and vital signs, titrate medications, and provide skilled bedside care. The PCU role, alias cardiac stepdown, emphasizes close observation and rapid intervention in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required or current.
• 2 years of acute care experience required.
• PCU/stepdown experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret physiological data and equipment.
• Initiate corrective actions based on monitor information.
