Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The PCU RN will provide bedside care, monitor cardiac patients, and perform tasks such as starting IVs, dressing changes, and medication administration on nights, 36 hours per week, for an 18-week assignment.

ACLS/BLS required with 1–2 years acute care experience; travel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required; NIH certification may be required before assignment.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Travel assignment in Council Bluffs, IA with 18 weeks duration and 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
