This remote role is Monday - Friday, with 8 or 10-hour days and a flexible schedule.

This position involves activities related to the trauma registry, including data gathering, abstraction, accurate data entry/coding, validation, and reporting to meet trauma center requirements. Acts as a member of the multi-disciplinary trauma team to support patient quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Performs functions independently with limited supervision. No budget responsibilities. Interacts with physicians, clinical staff, trauma team, and external agencies. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and standards, providing excellent service aligned with Banner Health’s core behaviors.
Education equivalent to a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or certified coder, including advanced medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Completion of ATS trauma registrar course and AIS training within one year of hire. Two or more years of experience in coding, abstraction, or data management. Ability to interpret medical records and abstract data accurately. Excellent organizational, communication, and data entry skills. Proficiency with office software, trauma registry software, electronic medical records, databases, and spreadsheet programs.
RHIT or RHIA certification, CPC, CSTR, trauma registry experience, or related education/experience.
